She'd given birth again
her children were stillborn
I don't know how many times
she had done so in her life
a continous cycle
her paws knew well
as they circled on heated sand
in search of rest from the world
humans aren't the only ones to suffer
I would have buried her babies
if I knew where they lay
now she walks another lonely path
perhaps we will meet after death
to discuss how life broke us both
I wish she knew one person has wept for her
that she isn't so alone
